The towel ring does a good job on preventing towels from falling on the floor. Has a little felt padding under the part that hangs over the door. The towel keeps the metal ring pushed slightly away from the door so it doesn't scratch the cabinet door. Also perfect for camper and it fit over the "lip" on the bottom of the cupboard above the sink in the bathroom. It never bounces off and the towel never falls off during travel. The "loop" is that it is smooth and just small enough to be able to use one hand to tuck the corner of a hand towel into it and hold the small towel securely.
