Competitor tanks run for 4 hours before shutting off in order to prevent the pump from burning out. Oli & Trace can run without shutting off for years. Oli & Trace looks realistic. We've spent 2 years tweaking the speed of the jellyfish to make the movement life-like. The jellyfish in cheaper tanks have fast, erratic movement. The lid of Oli & Trace is completely removable, making for a nice 'light show' on the ceiling. Competitor tanks have a small circle on the top of the tank that can be removed to fill the tank, and the 'light show' effect is diminished. The light show is perfect for babies - they'll forget there's a mobile in the crib. This product is backed by a 1 YEAR WARRANTY. Tap water is safe to use with Oli & Trace. However, distilled water is recommended as tap water has air bubbles that prevent the jellyfish from swimming properly. Note that air bubbles from tap water can be eliminated with a straw and disappear within 24 hours. If the jellyfish are not moving, move them into the path of the water pump with a utensil.
