The rubber bumper is for protecting wheel and rim from damage. 12.6-inches long to provide more leverage necessary to remove stubborn valve stems with less effort. This remover and installer definitely a good helper for changing the valve stem. TR413 VALVE STEM - Snap-in rubber car tire valve stems for tubeless 0.453” (11.5mm) diameter rim holes.
