The characteristics of the Raspberry Pi 3 generation:
Faster processor speed. At 1.2 GHz, Pi 3 is one and a half times faster than Pi 2 and performs better. The Pi 3 has an 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth Classic and Low Energy (BLE) onboard. You can connect faster, no longer relying on any external device like the Pi 2 era.
As processors get faster and have more onboard connectivity, you'll need more power. The power supply for the previous Pi board will not be sufficient, and a 2.5 A power supply is recommended.
The Pi 3 has a chip antenna located in front of the status LED. The status LED is still on the board, just beside the MicroSD card slot.
